Khaddafina Mbabazi is a writer and musician from Kampala. A winner of the PEN/Dau Prize for Emerging Writers, her work has appeared in Ploughshares, VQR, The Johannesburg Review of Books, Best Debut Short Stories 2021 and elsewhere. She holds an MFA from the University of Virginia where she was a Henry Hoyns Fellow, and taught fiction and a non-fiction course on cosmopolitanism. She was an inaugural Oxbelly fellow in 2023, and in 2024 was shortlisted for a Miles Morland Scholarship and awarded fellowships and/or residencies by MacDowell, The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and The Jan Michalski Foundation. She is currently the fiction editor at The Weganda Review.
